HG seems to have a lot of hype and great reviews (and is actually cheaper than the Ajisai room we have booked at Yama No Chaya), although YNC has the perks of being closer to the train station and other onsen (including Tanzen, which allows tattoos). I think YNC also even allows tattoos in its main onsen.

When's your honeymoon? Ours is in November and we booked Hakone Airu, so I can provide feedback if you're visiting after :) I was also looking at Yamanochaya first because of the reviews and my requirement to have a private open air bath.
